GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyzing and monitoring systems and applications to meet technological business needs. This role involves working with agriculture equipment technology and database management.

STARTING PAY: $59,000 per year

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES: None

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitoring project activities, outputs, and progress towards goals.
  • Working with data platforms, databases and selecting technologies to capture and organize data.
  • Conducting or providing support to data quality assessments.
  • Disseminating evaluation findings and project results to stakeholders.
  • Analyze and monitor computer systems and applications to meet the technological needs of our agriculture business.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  • Ensure that assets and applications are utilized per management requests.
  • Perform testing and quality assurance activities to ensure systems and applications are functioning correctly.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for systems and applications.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of agriculture technology and precision agriculture systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and people skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with database management and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with computer programming.
  • Familiarity with GIS tools and spatial data analysis is a plus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology, or any combination of education, training, and work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties/responsibilities of this position.
  • 3+ years’ experience in information technologies and systems working with analysis.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Regular attendance is required during normal working hours.
  • Sitting, Walking, Standing, Kneeling, Crawling, Climbing, and Reaching
  • Lifting occasionally up to 25 pounds.

Sugar Cane Growers Cooperative of Florida (SCGC) is comprised of 39 mostly family owned grower-members who produce approximately 4 million tons of sugarcane yielding approximately 400,000 tons of raw sugar and 20 million gallons of molasses, grown on over roughly 75,000 acres of land primarily in Palm Beach County, Florida. With over 500 employees, the Cooperative is responsible for the mechanical harvest of sugarcane per annum, and then processing and marketing the sugar, molasses and other by-products.
