Description

The Center for Environmental Research and Education (CERE) at Duquesne University invites applications for a Non-Tenure-Track position in Environmental Science, at the Assistant Professor level, for the academic year 2022-23 (preferred start date January 2023). More information about CERE can be found at duq.edu/CERE. The position will be open for the fall with class instruction beginning in January 2023.

The Assistant Professor hired for this position will be responsible for teaching a maximum of 12 credit hours per semester of undergraduate and graduate instruction which may include lectures, mentoring undergraduate and graduate research projects, and administrative duties.

Qualifications

We are seeking a dynamic individual with excellent interpersonal and time-management skills and qualifications to teach courses for undergraduate environmental science majors and graduate students in the MS in Environmental Science and Management program. Candidates holding a PhD degree in Environmental Science or related fields (such as sustainable agriculture, GIS/remote sensing, environmental toxicology, environmental policy) will be given preference. Successful applicants should be able to teach and mentor research at the intersection of environmental science, engineering, policy and management.

Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions.
