TSI ‘s service area covers northern Illinois, eastern Iowa, and the U.P. of Michigan with distribution centers based in Madison and Green Bay.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Commercial Sales Manager, the outside sales engineer position works with contractors, consulting engineers, architects, developers and end users preparing equipment selections, estimates, quotations, shop drawings, proposals and orders. Responsible for technical aspect of the engineering, sales and marketing functions in order to meet commercial sales goals as determined by senior management.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· To Be… Punctual, cooperative, dependable and able to take direction.

· Provides timely sales functions and services which include, but not limited to estimates, quotations, shop drawings, sales follow up, customer service functions, job/ quote file record keeping, correspondences, delivery updates, post-sale support, etc.

· Develop and grow commercial applied and unitary product and control sales, mechanical contractors, dealers, consulting engineers and end user accounts.

· Establish and strengthen relationships with all consulting engineers and end users

· Maintain a data base to monitor & record specs generated for both in & out of territory projects for assigned engineering accounts. Fill out & monitor all cross territory and spec bounty programs.

· Master and implement all Carrier and other vendor sales/engineering productivity software tools: Quote Builder, Quote Pro, E Cat, E Design suite, Mestek, Greenheck, MicroMetl, CDI, etc

· Travel to customer’s site to provide system, product & controls marketing/training

· Prepare operational cost analysis for system replacements, system comparisons, energy upgrades, temperature control upgrades/replacements, VRF systems and chiller/boiler plants

· Ensures timely, accurate, proper records, files, data bases, etc. are developed and maintained for assigned areas of responsibility.

· Open and willing to perform other duties as needed.

Education and Experience:

· 3- 5 years’ experience in HVAC engineering, contracting, HVAC technical sales or support.

· Ability to work in a team sales/support environment

· Strong working knowledge of Commercial HVAC systems and controls

· Strong HVAC technical and engineering support and customer service skills.

· Excellent skills in organization, detail orientation, analytical, problem solving and follow through.

· Solid understanding of the company’s sales function and related HVAC technical products and services.

· Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.

· Strong PC skills for hardware and software applications (Word, Excel, Adobe, scanning/creating PDF’s, Carrier QB, Quote Pro, Carrier ECAT, NX Trend and related equipment selection/estimating software applications from ancillary manufacturer’s.

· Be a self-starter and possess the ability to work with limited supervision.

· Able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment while maintaining a positive pro-active customer service approach.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Solid organizational and communication skills

· Valid Driver’s License
