DevOps Engineer - Entry Level Job at Computer Services Incorporated
Location: Any CSI Office in Eastern or Central Time Zones
DevOps Engineer Is collaborate with management, product owners, developers, and engineers to plan, develop, and implement solutions to optimize and automate business and technical processes. They discover, prove, and promulgate new tools and practices by reading, researching, testing, and experimenting; spending time creating proof-of-concept applications, pipelines, processes, and software deployments. They act as thought leaders to spread and teach new practices or tools.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Automates and optimizes the deployment of applications and infrastructure both on-prem and in the cloud by interacting with management, product owners, developers, and engineers to find pain points in their day-to-day lives and determine what portions of their process can be automated or streamlined.
- Supports and maintains on-prem and cloud environments and/or containers by helping to design, deploy, and securely maintain virtual environments that will ensure developers have an environment to help deploy their application stacks in using modern practices.
- Implements and maintains automation by writing, testing, deploying, and maintaining the appropriate tools.
- Creates extensible and modular software packages and templates which can be re-used across our organization.
- Solves the general problem rather than today’s case.
- Writes and maintains documentation for the tools and services we build.
- Acts as an example and advocate for best practices; guards the team against amassing technical debt. Meets new problems with enthusiasm and new learners with patience and generosity.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- CSI teams learn and adopt new tools and practices which increase velocity and reduce costs.
- Ensure timelines are accurately communicated to management as well as meeting the agreed-upon deadlines.
- Ensuring the work that has been produced is documented and communicated properly to the organization.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education & Certifications:
Education or job knowledge equivalent to college or university undergraduate education.
Azure 900 Fundamentals Certification preferred
Terraform Associate Certification preferred
Experience:
The minimum amount of relevant work experience required to successfully perform the job is at least two (2) years.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Cloud
- Hands-on experience in continuous delivery and continuous integration of CI/CD pipelines
- Proficient with Git, Git Flow, Azure DevOps
- Strong hands-on expertise in diverse DevSecOps concepts/tools, especially on Azure DevOps, Pipelines, GitHub, and GitHub actions
- Ability to assess the requirement, and environment and suggest the right tools/technologies
- Good knowledge of PowerShell/Shell scripting
- Expertise in Debugging and providing solutions and workarounds
- Hands-on experience with REST APIs and consuming from .Net Technologies and PowerShell/Shell
- Knowledge of different monitoring and logging solutions available on the Cloud, preferably on Azure
- Excellent communication, presentation, and coding abilities
