Overview:
The Director of Development for the School of Business and School of Computing and Engineering responsibilities will include organizing and executing a major gift program to maximize potential gift income from alumni, parents and organizations. This role requires the ability to clearly meet defined metrics annually. The ideal candidate must be highly collaborative and have a demonstrated ability to work successfully with external constituents such as alumni and parents, as well as internal constituents such as administration, fundraising colleagues, faculty, and deans. Other responsibilities include planning for annual giving campaigns, regional alumni events and Bobcats Unite, the Quinnipiac Days of Giving and managing a comprehensive campaign.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, implement and manage programs designed to increase gift income for approved strategic initiatives in the School of Business and School of Computing and Engineering
  • Work closely with the Deans of the School of Business and School of Engineering to
    sustain an effective development program
  • Demonstrate leadership through exemplary performance in the personal cultivation of prospects and solicitation of major gifts
  • Plan and implement special cultivation and solicitation activities to obtain funds from
    major prospects in order to increase major gifts from alumni, parents, friends, corporations
    and foundations
  • Secure gifts for the capital project for the School of Business
  • Carry out assignments in a major capital campaign and other specific tasks requested by
    the Vice President for Development and Alumni Affairs
  • Grow and evaluate the School of Business and School of Computing and Engineering Advisory Boards

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Experience may substitute for some of the above education requirements

Qualifications:
  • The ability to develop and execute successful fundraising campaigns, identify potential donors, and maintain positive relationships with existing donors
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate the university and schools' vision and goals, as well as communicate with donors and alumni
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, alumni, and community leaders
  • Ability to think strategically about fundraising initiatives and develop plans that align with the university's goals
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics related to fundraising efforts, track progress, and make data-driven decisions
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders across the university, including academic departments, administrative offices, and alumni associations
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to think creatively about fundraising initiatives, donor recognition programs, and other ways to engage donors and alumni
  • A strong understanding of the university's history, mission, and culture is critical for developing fundraising strategies that align with the university's goals and values
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
