What You’ll Bring
The Engineering Shop & Lab Assistant(s) will have the opportunity to support and learn from our Engineering Technicians in our Test Engineering Shops and Labs. With excellence and growth being the passing grade, you will be challenged on-a-daily basis to develop innovative ideas to drive efficiency in your goal to support the Engineering Technicians and facilitate Engineering Shop/Lab operations. This is a shop & lab support role with requirements for learning and development. We are searching for individuals driven by the Tesla Mission to join us.
What You’ll Do- Demonstrates the right aptitude to learn Engineering Test Standards with a safety-first attitude
- Motivated to work in a high-paced, dynamic environment
- Willingness to learn new and innovative automotive technologies
- Organizing and maintaining shop equipment, parts, & fleet vehicles when necessary
- Support shop logistics from parts runs to fleet logistics
- Supporting technicians on test setup and inspection, and end of test wrap up
- Assist with test clean-up (spilled liquids or debris)
- Inventory and reorder consumables
- Organizing parts/fixtures by using fork-lifts and other equipment
Ability to follow technician/engineer instructions to operate charging equipment, basic hand tools,
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with coworkers and public
- Able and willing to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in an industrial environment (90% indoor)
- Comfortable using hand tools to perform basic shop operations
- Work with a collaborative attitude and team spirit
- Professional appearance
- Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to change
- Basic command of the English Language
- Basic computer use expertise (Excel, Web Browsers, Word, email/Calendars)
- Valid Driver’s license (this is required to be able to drive vehicles in/out-side the Vehicle Engineering Shop)
