Saint John's Program for Real Change (SJPRC) is seeking a part-time (non-exempt) Grants Coordinator in office.

Founded on the steps of St. John’s Lutheran Church in 1985, Saint John’s Program for Real Change has helped more than 30,000 women and children transform their lives from poverty and dependence to confidence and self-sustainability. Dedicated to the eradication of homelessness once and for all, this up-to-18-month comprehensive residential program provides families with the tools they need to address the root causes as well as the symptoms of homelessness: mental health therapy, drug and alcohol counseling, life skills classes (anger management, parenting, budgeting, positive thinking, healthy relationships and more), a path to a high school diploma and a proprietary Employment Training Program, with 96% of its graduates securing unsubsidized employment. Saint John’s serves up to 270 women and children daily which translates to up to 600 women and children per year. The nonprofit’s mission is to unleash the potential of women and children in crisis by breaking the cycle of poverty and dependence, one family at a time.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Research and secure grants to support financial funding through private, corporate and public funding sources.
- Carry out processes efficiently to gather and develop the required written material for letters of interest, proposals and grant applications. Develop and produce content to communicate SJPRC’s story, goals, impact, outcomes, and vision for the future.
- Under the direction of the Chief Development Officer, engage with Program Managers and Finance Director in the early stages of grant planning, to ensure proposals meet eligibility, funding priorities and reporting requirements. Continue engagement throughout the proposal development process.
- Contribute to the successful completion of SJPRC’s Organization, Corporation and Government proposals to ensure they are accurate, compelling and competitive by accomplishing the following:
- Establish timelines to complete collection of relevant data/information for proposal content, internal routing for approvals, and final submission.
- Provide clarification on grant parameters, priorities and eligibility requirements to all stakeholders.
- Provide updates and reports on the status of grants and other grant activities regularly to leadership.
- Research prospective funding opportunities, track findings and report to Chief Development Officer.
- Plan, prepare and meet deadlines for grant submissions as well as reporting to grantors.
- Manage and assign tasks to complete proposal, monitor the development, and obtain all required documents to complete proposal/application.
- Track the submission of funding proposals and grant applications on Grant Tracker and Quarterly Summary.
- Work with the Finance Director and Chief Development Officer to prepare and modify budgets as necessary to meet grant submission guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of grant funding research, resources, guidelines and RFP supporting materials in electronic form SJPRC Shared drive.
- Provide Grants Management services for SJPRC by managing the implementation of all grant award activities to comply with funder requirements:
- Provide all grant information to Data Entry Coordinator to be effectively recorded in Salesforce
- Update funding and report log and save all award documentation, final proposal and budget documents in the Leadership folder on shared drive. Notify Finance Department and Leadership Team of award.
- Coordinate reporting activities with grant funding personnel and SJP Program Managers in collecting and monitoring program outcomes, compliance requirements and activities as specified in grant contract.
- Prepare and submit reports and required documents to grant funder and contracted agencies within assigned funding deadlines.
- Review and evaluate granted program metrics, achievements and outcomes through the reporting process and review with Program Managers and SJPRC staff. Address and solve any challenges or concerns.
- Maintain positive working relationships with Leadership team, Program Supervisors, staff members, funding sources, and community agencies.
- Collaborate with marketing to recognize grant awards through timely communications such as social media engagement and recognition.
- Develop relationships with community organizations and funders, including hosting tours, conducting site visits, Guest Chef Dinner invitations, and special events.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or progressive administrative experience within non-profit or human services agency.
- 1+ years successful grant writing experience required with an ability to demonstrate effectiveness and follow through.
- Knowledge of proposal development, grant writing strategies, research methods and grant administration with knowledge of foundation and corporate fund development and familiarity of county and state contracting requirements.
- Ability to identify and analyze appropriate data as needed for proposals.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, and the ability to demonstrate attention to detail.
- Ability to conduct programmatic interviews, surveys, and collect quantitative and qualitative data for evaluation and grant progress reports.
- Demonstrate ability to exercise sound independent judgment and to analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to use time efficiently to keep commitments while prioritizing and planning work activities.
- Demonstrate ability to effectively manage interpersonal relationships, resources, and information.
- Excellent organizational skills with particular ability to prioritize work in an environment with multiple and conflicting interests and deadlines.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate in a clear, concise and effective manner verbally and orally.
- Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion.
- Knowledge of and proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software; exposure to and understanding of databases.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

- Must be able to pass a criminal background screening (Live-Scan) and drug screen
Pay Range
$33-$35/ hr
