Location/Division Specific Information

This role is focused on service delivery excellence for Unity Lab Services - a division of Thermo Fisher responsible for providing on-site services at customers locations. We provide services at over 400 customer sites globally! This position directly supports our on-site clients by facilitating Chemical Management services - interacting daily with lab end users, managing chemical stockrooms, delivering chemicals, and other services to support chemical operations.

This position is located in Thousand Oaks, CA.

The salary range estimated for this position is $18.67 - $28.51.

A day in the Life:

  • Follows well defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOP’s & work instructions. Takes direction from Site Supervisor/Manager (and Team Lead) regarding daily duties.
  • Serve as facility contact for supported labs as a partner to identify and maintain critical control devices and maintain hazard waste levels
  • Control Temperature Chamber Management includes monitoring alarms and preventative maintenance (PM) cleanings
  • Routine tasks include, but not limited to, monitoring and handling of HPLC waste, lab debris drums, KF waste, sharps containers, glove disposal bins, any other waste the requires a hazard waste label, chemical waste disposals, and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) liquid nitrogen fills
  • Maintain and report program statistics and metrics decided upon by Thermo Fisher Scientific and Amgen
  • Support PPI, identify process improvement and time/savings opportunities within the lab support program, and provide stellar customer service as well as scientific support expertise
  • May include, but not limited to, supporting Chemical Management team with deliveries, stockroom management, inventory counts, hazardous waste pickups, and other projects
  • Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned by management

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and preferably an Associate’s degree at minimum.

Experience

  • 2-3 years customer service preferred
  • Experience in laboratory and in GXP environments preferred
  • Shown success in team environment

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Must be proficient with a computer and the Microsoft Office suite of software with proficiency in Excel highly valued
  • Strong communication, written, and presentation skills
  • Listens to customer concerns and identify course of action to reach a resolution
  • Detail oriented, problem solver, promotes positive team environment
  • Promotes personal growth and development by introducing new policies and improvements

Working Conditions:

  • May be required to work independently at customer location
  • Extensive walking may be required for 75-85% of the day
  • May be necessary to lift, push and pull 40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift up to 50 lbs
  • May be able to use material handling equipment such as push carts and pallet jacks
  • Personal protective equipment may be worn that include face mask, lab coats, safety glasses, safety shoes, and/or safety gloves

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $19.66-$29.48.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
