We are currently searching for a talented Land Surveyor Project Manager to support our Florida region in Gainesville, Maitland, or Tampa, FL.

This is a managerial role that is held accountable for all aspects of the survey department such as plan, organize, direct and control.

What you’ll be doing:*
Project Management

  • Project management responsibilities include client contact, data management, boundary determinations, preparing legal descriptions, construction layout calculations and file preparation
  • Consulting; preparing proposals and contracts; providing guidance and direction to field crew(s) and surveying technicians; overseeing survey aspects of civil engineering projects and/or directing preparation of all types of survey plans; conducting deed and plan research and review; preparing ROW plans and agreements; performing field work associated with land surveying, engineering and construction projects; performing survey computations and data collection; CAD and drafting
  • Work includes all facets of land and engineering surveys, site and roadway design surveys, route surveys, construction surveys, supervision and production of surveying projects, resolve and review Boundary and ALTA surveys, drawing and other related work products and services

Project Monitoring and Review

  • Oversees the surveying function of the business to meet client needs by performing skilled, technical work in the surveying, mapping and drafting of projects
  • Review, organize and plan the Survey schedule to assure surveys are completed on-time
  • Verify and document departmental employees are appropriately trained to operate survey equipment
  • Verify that survey staff maintains proper documentation necessary for change orders, field notebooks, time sheets, project records, vehicle operation and maintenance records
  • Oversee and monitor survey equipment to ensure that it is properly maintained, calibrated and fully accounted for on a regular schedule
  • Resolve problems with local government officials, inspectors, customer’s representative and work crew on job sites or delegate as needed. Review completed work to assure that survey group complies with all applicable Professional, Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations

What you need to have:*

  • BS in Surveying or related field
  • Must be a registered as a Professional Land Surveyor
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in all aspects of land surveying
  • Valid State driver’s license
  • Must be proficient in the use of computers, MicroStation and InRoads
  • Must have strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, be self-directed with good verbal and written communication skills
