Lead Warehouse Worker Description:

Store Supply Warehouse is looking for a dedicated, motivated, individual who want to further their career in warehousing to join our team as a Senior Warehouse Production Team Member. The open position is at our Bridgeton, MO location. As a Lead Warehouse Worker, you will be an important part of the team assisting the Warehouse Manager with managerial decisions concerning the warehouse, as well as, assisting with production matters. This is the next step in an associate's path to management. Duties include: picking and packing orders, assembling, receiving, putaway, replenishment, loading/unloading trailers, and other duties in a fast-paced environment.

Lead Warehouse Worker Responsibilities:

  • Consistently acting in the best interest of both the Company and its customers
  • Provide guidance and support to warehouse team members
  • Primary focus is in production, which includes picking, packing, replenishment, and put away, but may also include showcase assembly and receiving
  • Ability to relate in a positive, friendly manner and oversee a specified area within work environment to maintain consistent workflow and meet customer expectations
  • Knowing, performing, and, mastering all aspects of the warehouse, which primarily includes picking, packing, replenishment, put away, loading/unloading trailers, and inventory control, but may also include receiving, and assembling showcases,
  • Processing work assignments, controlling inventory, prioritizing order demands, support floor operators, & delivering consistent high-level customer satisfaction
  • All system transactions must be accurate and all paperwork completed and filed daily
  • Must embrace and promote a team atmosphere, not only in shipping, but companywide.
  • Utilizes and enforces progressive disciplinary guidelines listed in handbook
  • Adheres to cycle count program to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Ensures warehouse is run safely (OSHA compliant), reporting any unsafe conditions/equipment to the manager and Human Resources Manager
  • Organizes and manages special projects as needed
  • Following company SOP standards and Paying attention to detail
  • Communicating effectively with individuals/teams to ensure high quality and timely expedition of customer requests
  • Contributing ideas on ways to resolve problems to better serve the customer and/or improve productivity
  • Interfacing with a variety of internal departments
  • Organizing, planning and prioritizing work duties
  • Maintaining a courteous and positive relationship with all customers and fellow employees
  • Entering needed data into computer for order processing and receipts on a constant basis
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Examining and inspecting stock items for wear or defects, reporting damages to manager
  • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
  • Operating forklift and operating strap machine
  • Accurately sort and stack product according to labels
  • Effectively pushing/pulling carts throughout warehouse containing product
  • Performing other duties assigned by manager/lead

Lead Warehouse Worker Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or a GED is required
  • Warehouse experience of 3 years or more in manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Reach truck experience is required. Other forklift experience is a plus
  • A strong work ethic
  • Experience with Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Oral comprehension
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations, read and interpret documents, follow procedures, and document information
  • Experience in leading a team and communicating closely with management is a must
  • Ability to work in a quick-paced production environment; troubleshoot and take corrective action to resolve problems, if necessary
  • Experience with an automated Warehouse Management System
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends/holiday when necessary
  • Willingness to maintain a safe and ethical work environment, and work as an effective team member
  • Being reliable, accountable and responsible for own actions
  • Dependability, self-control, and cooperation
  • Ability to lift or push/pull objects up to 75 pounds
  • Being honest, ethical, and display a positive attitude
  • Capability to stand/walk for a minimum of eight hours per day
  • Ability to lift, turn, bend, reach, pull, and walk
  • Tolerate a hot/cold environment (varied climate)
  • Ability to constantly manipulate objects with fingers and hands
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
