Job Title: Contract Therapist

Department: Clinical Advocacy Services

Reports To: Director of Clinical Services

FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Job Summary

Be part of the life-changing work support survivors and their children healing from domestic violence and working with perpetrators of violence to take responsibility and make changes in their lives. SafeNest also serves survivors of sexual assault and human trafficking. Counselors will be part of a team and carry a caseload supporting both individual and group sessions.

Therapists hired for this position are considered 1099 contractors.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake sessions for both victims and perpetrators
  • Ongoing therapy for men, women, adolescents, children, and families
  • Conduct group sessions with victims and perpetrators
  • Become informed regarding best practices when working with survivors and perpetrators of domestic violence and the effects of domestic violence on the entire family
  • Learn and utilize therapeutic methods based on trauma-informed care
  • Document case notes in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Write progress reports for the courts and CPS

Work in conjunction with SafeNest partners to support domestic violence counseling needs and client case management. The employee will be expected to perform other job-related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or other management as required.

Licensure to provide counseling/therapy services in the State of Nevada is mandatory.

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)

Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience in trauma-informed therapeutic modalities
  • Cultural competency
  • Willingness and ability to become credentialed with Medicaid and Medicaid MCOs
  • Posses own laptop for working remotely
  • Maintain own malpractice insurance
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Solid time management skills
  • Ability to set and follow own schedule to meet clients' needs

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions

  • The noise level in the work environment is standard office noise.
  • Regular attendance during scheduled business hours is expected. However, this position may require occasional flexibility to accomplish department goals and objectives.
