Job Summary:

The Mercury Microsystems team responsible for the rapid development of affordable, chip-scale, secure, and trusted open system architecture devices for our customers. This leading-edge capability also addresses a need by the Department of Defense (DoD) for made-in-USA microelectronics that equip our warfighters with state-of-the-art, military-grade products that leverage the most advanced commercial technologies.

You’ll work with an excellent, multi-disciplined team, to exceed expectations for our commercial, industrial, and military customers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Researches, designs, modifies, evaluates, and oversees mechanical development of complicated electro-mechanical components and systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific applications
- Performs mechanical design, analysis, and evaluation of varying, low-volume, microelectronic systems and their constituent parts including: high-density flip-chips / die, interposers, substrates, lids /covers, wafers, and materials
- Performs or oversees mechanical modeling, simulation, and analysis to evaluate assemblies, material properties, structural integrity, thermal integrity, shock and vibration, coefficients of thermal expansion (CTE), warpage, interfaces, environmental effects, etc.
- Conducts technical investigations of mechanical properties and requirements involving the origination or modification of component, subsystem, system, and/or processes
- Supports multidisciplinary research and collaboration across engineering disciplines, operations, supply chain, quality, contracts, management, and supporting organizations
- Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
- Considers the effects of actions on the system as a whole. I.e., “systems-thinking”
- Supports operational, maintenance, and testing procedures for mechanical products, components, and equipment (including test equipment)
- Manages and/or has technical responsibility for planning, organizing, scheduling, budgeting, and conducting technical projects or phases of projects
- Supports project management, capital planning, and project execution
- Prepares specifications, analyses, product documentation, and recommendations for presentation and approval
- Supports technical interface to customers, subcontractors, assemblers, fabricators, consultants, and vendors/suppliers as applicable to system-level electrical, power, packaging, and process solutions
- Willing to help the team in areas outside of specific technical discipline
- May act as informal team lead
- May provide work leadership for lower level professional and technical staff
- Periodic travel may be necessary
- May occasionally work overtime to meet deadlines

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum Experience: 0-2 Years
- Experience with the following required:
- 3D modeling and database management, e.g. Solidworks
- Preferred experience and toolsets:
- Solidworks with Engineering Product Data Management (EPDM)
- Willingness to learn
- Must be able to obtain government security clearance
- Work effectively individually and as part of a team with little oversight
