Medical Assistant II--Internal Medicine (Mt Lebanon) #5637 Job at St. Clair Hospital
Summary
Under the general supervision of a physician or designated supervisor, this position is a key member of the team that provides optimal healthcare to patients. As an experienced member of the healthcare team, will lead by example and support mentoring of new staff members. The position supports physicians and other care providers to deliver patient-centered care and may also assist with clerical duties. Additionally, the position is considered the practice expert on clinical operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent and completion of one of the following:
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program
- Graduated of a recognized Practical or Registered Nurse program
- Two years of direct clinical patient care experience in a health care setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to operate various office and medical equipment.
- Fundamental understanding of personal computers and familiarity with the Windows operating system.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant.
- One year experience performing phlebotomy and EKGs.
- Prior experience in the mentoring and training of clinical staff.
- Prior experience in a clinical leadership role.
- Knowledge of the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.50 - $20.00 per hour
