Hinsdale Orthopaedics, a division of Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, MRI Technologists for its busy New Lenox location to cover our weekday evening shifts (M-F 4-9 PM).

Responsibilities include:

• Pre-screening the patient for any safety concerns prior to them entering the magnetic field
• Providing the Radiologist with a clear and concise history required to formulate an accurate diagnosis of the patient's condition.is currently seeking
• Performing a daily Q&A
• Reviewing physician Rx's
• Determining the amount of time required to perform the MRI and informing the MRI Scheduler.
• Instructing patient regarding need for patient gown ,removal or jewelry, etc.. while ensuring the safety of patient's personal belongings.
• Explaining procedure and communication mechanisms. Answers patient questions.
• Performing weekly ACR and SMPTE testing for ACR.
• Performing MRI scan as pre-determined by protocol
• Preparing and injects contrast material as required
• Frequently checking on patient status
• Reviewing/evaluating images preceding scan in order to ensure an accurate scan; properly demonstrates that the area under study is of high quality and without motion.
• Ensuring that all images are sent to PAC's and Radiologist
• Applying appropriate ICD codes to charge sheets
• Preparing any archive functions necessary to save exams for future use.
• Preparing copies of CD's upon request
• Stocking MR room and area with supplies and practices good housekeeping in department
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

• Ability to perform lifting associated with patient transfers and MRI supplies (up to 50 lbs.)
• Ability to bend and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Certification in MRI from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Active IL licensure
• Valid CPR certification
• 1-2 years MRI experience
• Computer literate
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Siemens experience preferred
