How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
- Prepare composite and sheet metal parts and assemblies for paint as well as fill and fair.
- Paint aircraft interior parts and assemblies with different water-based and solvent-based paints in accordance with released data.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, engineering orders, and work instructions.
- Read, understand, and follow Delta, Boeing, and Airbus processes and material specifications.
- Comply with lean manufacturing principals and work with leads and supervisors to implement best practices in the manufacturing process.
- Work with engineers and management in problem-solving production issues.
- Be prepared to cross-train and be utilized in other aspects of the production process.
- Follow all procedures for the use and proper fitting of required respirator systems.
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to DFP safety procedures and regulations.
The minimum starting hourly rate for this position is $26.66 with a potential maximum hourly rate of $49.66. The ability to reach the maximum hourly rate is dependent upon several other offered premiums (Examples would include but not limited to - Airframe and Powerplant license, Shift differential, Station location differential, Line Maintenance differential, Skill differential).
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical school or experience working in a Painting facility is preferred.
- High level of manual dexterity and detail orientation.
- Possess the ability to visually recognize and identify different colors.
- Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by the date of hire to be considered for a U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.
