TITLE: Project Geologist

RESPONSIBLE/REPORTING TO: Managing Partners

ROLE: Gila Geological Consultants LLC is looking for a Project Geologist in the Globe-Miami area. Professional roles are needed for a drilling project.

LOCATION: This position is located in Globe, Arizona. This is a rural area approximately 80 miles from the Phoenix metropolitan area. This historic town is at an altitude of approximately 3,500 feet located in the heart of Arizona’s Tonto National Forest. The summers are hot, dry, and mostly clear and the winters are cold and partly cloudy. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 34°F to 96°F and is rarely below 26°F or above 101°F.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Requires on-site logging reverse circulation drill cuttings.
• Geologist roles are needed for water and mineral resource exploration, geologic logging and laboratory quality assurance.
• May assist company hydrogeologists with groundwater airlift, pump and recovery testing.
• Fieldwork and travel with overnight stays may be required.
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills are a must.
• Candidates must be able to foster a positive work environment.
• This assignment involves working in a mine setting with uneven terrain and climatic changes.
• Candidates that are acceptable to working a rotating shift schedule that is required for this project should apply.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in geology and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of porphyry copper ore deposit and hydrogeology is a plus.

SCHEDULE: Candidates that are acceptable to working a rotating shift schedule that is required for this project should apply. This work schedule will include working days, weekends and nights.
