PROJECT MANAGER

(Hybrid)

Hobbs+Black Architects is a nationally recognized architectural, design, and related consulting firm serving a diverse group of clients since 1965.

Our headquarters in downtown Ann Arbor is seeking a licensed Architectural Project Manager for its downtown Ann Arbor headquarters to support a variety of architectural projects in both new construction and renovation from planning and design inception through construction completion.

Duties and Responsibilities

    Manage projects on all levels from planning and design conception through construction

    Prepare complex architectural construction drawings for new construction, renovation, and adaptive reuse projects

    Develop technical construction documents in AutoCAD and Revit

    Develop technical solutions for new construction and renovation projects

    Develop and draft architectural details and plans in accordance with client-specific standards

    Supervise fieldwork, documentation, research and drafting tasks of architectural project data

    Manage site planning and zoning research

    Oversee feasibility and operating studies for variety of project types

    Lead shop drawing review, team, and project meetings

    Manage the preparation of bid packages

    Attend planning and zoning, and/or municipal meetings

    Effectively communicate and coordinate with project team, consultants, and clients

    Maintains proper project filing in accordance with Hobbs+Black and/or client-specific standards

    Maintains and complies with Hobbs+Black project standards

    Competent project time and expense documentation skills

    Effective leadership and management of support team

    Reports to the studio leader and/or principal in charge of assigned project

Essential Functions

    Advanced knowledge of construction techniques, construction documents, and CAD concepts

    Advanced technical proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit

    Technical ability to develop, coordinate, and review construction documents for design solutions

    Proficient in building codes and ADA requirements

    Ability to detail out all aspects of a building including sections and details

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams

    Consistent ability to successfully meet deadlines

    Effective managerial skills

    Effective oral presentation skills

    Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally

    Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

Education and Experience

    Bachelor or Master’s degree of architecture

    7+ years of experience in an architectural practice

    Strong technical knowledge and proficiency in architectural drafting software

    Architecture license/registration preferred
