Requirements Education & Experience

· Completed, as a minimum, the OSHA 30 Hour for Construction training within the past five years

· Minimum of five years of experience within the construction and pharmaceutical industry (commercial/industrial) with at least the most recent five years in a safety specific role OR

· A safety related college degree with a minimum of five years of experience, in a safety specific role, within the construction industry (commercial/industrial).

General Description

The Project Safety Officer is their primary technical resource regarding construction safety. The Project Safety Officer shall be capable of identifying existing and predictable hazards in the surroundings or working conditions, which are unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to personnel, and is authorized to take prompt corrective measures to eliminate them.

Responsabilities

Consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

· Administer the company Safety Program.

· Monitor compliance with mandatory safety and health laws, standards, and codes.

· Have the knowledge of performing a Job Hazard Analysis.

· Monitor the work environment for noise and pollutants and document the results to eliminate or control hazards, which could contribute to, or result in, an occupational illness.

· Perform and document daily field observations of construction related activities, to identify and correct deficiencies and report daily to Owner and Owner’s Safety Advisor.

· Conduct a daily, documented field review of activity safety planning.

· Offer coaching and support to field supervision, and demonstrate visible commitment to the safety of the workforce.

· Perform informal safety audits, document and report results to the Owner and the Owner’s Safety Advisor.

· Assist Project Field Supervision in the inspection of equipment, facilities, and work in progress.

· Support the Construction Manager’s weekly Safety Committee Meeting by:

· Notify the Owner and the Owner’s Safety Advisor immediately of any unplanned adverse incident (injury, property/equipment damage, or serious near miss).

· Investigate injuries, conditions, and incidents to ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Weekend availability

  • Carolina, PR: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
