Position Summary. The QA Assistant Manager is a liaison throughout the production process to ensure compliance to all respective codes, company policies and quality of the product(s). This position also supports the production team, as needed. Extensive training in the manufactured home building industry is required, some travel may be required for training purposes, only.

Duties / Responsibilities

DAPIA / Floor Plan - Approved Document Control

• Maintain current master copy of all documents including supplier data, supplier audit reports, DAPIA, ECR’s, record of changes, CEF forms, etc.
• Distribute materials (DAPIA updates, supplier data, product standards, etc.) with full explanation of changes or additions
• Maintenance of the on-line DAPIA
• Initiate ECR’s for proposed changes or modifications of the DAPIA designs or Floor Plans
• Follow-up with all paperwork distributions to assure changes are being made in accordance with distributed drawings and specifications
• Inspections, monitoring, and tracking
• Perform a systematic documented line inspection, in a 15-day rotation of CCI items, material installation, and observation of testing equipment
• Daily inspection of a labeled unit.
• Follow-up inspections of yard work and re-testing
• Ensure that the QA Administration - FTC Database is updated routinely and monitor for repetitive issues or other quality issues
• During IPIA inspections, escort the IPIA throughout the plant
• Assist in the accurate and timely completion of HUD 302 reports, Alternate Construction reports and Energy Star reports

Training

• Provide QA and DAPIA training with team members as needed
• Ensure QA Administrative database for Training is updated timely and accurately
• Maintain testing certification(s) as required.

Reporting and Accountability

• Report all quality control and IPIA findings. Complete C.E.F. (Compliance Education Form) as needed
• Keep the General Manager and Production Manager aware of problem areas and the top three issues.
• Assist with maintaining QA information boards
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Willingness to undergo extensive training in the areas of:

• Manufactured home building and manufacturing industry
• Reading and interpreting architectural/engineering drawings and specifications
• Proactive approach to Quality
• Knowledge of facilities machines, tools, and equipment
• Tracking and reporting of Quality issues
• Understanding of construction trades and quality practices
• Must be able to communicate efficiently and effectively with all Team Members at all levels
  

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Four-year degree, required
• Construction industry experience is highly desirable
  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
