Position Summary:
To provide Supervision for all operational activities of the Receiving Department and Production Support personnel.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily receipts of all inbound packaging, ingredients and local supply deliveries which include box trucks, tank trucks and rail cars.
- Direct the daily efforts of bulk line operators and all personnel involved with this function.
- Office duties which may include sending/answering emails, phone, other computer related tasks, filling out performances appraisals, and other important paperwork.
- Regular coordination with other department heads which may include Purchasing, Quality Control and Traffic, Distribution.
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in Logistics, Distribution or transportation field or related equivalent work experience
- Receiving experience of 6 to 10 years with a minimum of 4 years at a supervisory level in an equivalent size operation
Knowledge and Skills:
- Efficient planning and organization skills, cooperation and understanding of subordinates
- Effective at multi tasking and prioritizing
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of computer systems, including Windows Excel and Word, AS-400, RF locater system
Physical Demands:
Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform the required task(s). Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance. Additional demands may be required.
Work Environment:
In addition to normal business hours, work schedules may include after hours and weekends as needed. May work outside and in adverse temperatures which include extreme hot, cold, and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company Safety standards. May require work in confined and dark spaces, and at heights in excess of 18 feet for prolonged periods of time.
