Description and tasks

Main duties and responsibilites

  • Proactively develop strong relationships with customers and all Bulten Departments with any concerns escalated to the Managing Director as and when required
  • Develop customer business by means of commercial and technical interaction, ensuring business is commercially viable and sustainable
  • Support and promote Value Engineering / Value Analysis activities at all customer locations and with diverse customer personnel
  • Promote Bulten FSP business as a means to creating sustainable, substantial revenue growth
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize work according to customer and business needs
  • Work in line with customer, commercial, and engineering procedures
  • Maintain a proactive approach to cost reduction within both Bulten and customer
  • Manage and/or support resolution of customer quality events, engaging appropriate quality personnel as needed and required
  • Manage and maintain customer portal systems
  • Manage, coach and develop direct reports, ensuring excellent service is delivered and relationships developed
  • Provide guidance and support to direct reports in resolving customer issues, contract negotiations, etc. participating in joint customer visits/meetings as needed
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to new business opportunities. Actively function as a “hunter” of new business opportunities and not just maintaining current customer relationships/business
  • Attend business meetings as and when required
  • Design / create cost effective solutions to improve company margins
  • Ensure new customer drawings are correctly created, processed, and approved by customer / supplier prior to release
  • Create accurate budget and quarterly sales forecasts
  • Knowledge of and adherence to Work Instructions relevant to role
  • Knowledge of and adherence to ISO 14001 and TS16949
  • Knowledge of and adherence to Bulten Health and Safety Policy
  • Knowledge of and adherence to Bulten Environmental Policy
  • Knowledge of and adherence to Bulten Code of Conduct
  • To assist as required with any other reasonable request in line with business needs or customer/client requirements

Candidate Profile

Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering field

Knowledge of fastener engineering (preferred)

Thorough understanding of automotive development, qualification, quality and manufacturing processes
