The Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for managing our master data set, developing reports, and troubleshooting data issues. They ensure the quality, accuracy and integrity of data and process, design and present it in a manner that helps our business and organization make informed decisions.The successful candidate will be supremely organized and detail-oriented with good proactive instincts for how best to be of help in a fast-moving and rapidly changing environment. They must be flexible, quick to learn, be able to anticipate needs of both individuals and the organization and improve systems/processes that support the entire organization

The Sr. Financial Analyst will collaborate with Operations and Leadership teams to understand requirements for information and then create new or modify existing reports and dashboards to deliver against business needs. Candidates must have strong data visualization skills, experience developing highly complex reports and presentations based on data from multiple sources and have a passion or telling stories with data.


WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Elicit and document business requirements for metrics, reports, and dashboards
  • Translate business requirements into technical reporting specifications.
  • Design and develop reports and dashboards primarily in Power BI. Reports will have multiple data sources, complex queries, views, stored procedures, and automation features.
  • Perform ongoing monitoring and refinement of reports.
  • Participate in report design reviews with stakeholders to validate requirements.
  • Execute plans for Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Performance tune Power BI reports and dashboards, recommend and implement tuning techniques.
  • Provide technical support for existing reports, dashboards, or other tools.
  • Support development of standards for reporting and dashboards.
  • Support governance of data in the reporting platform ensuring users have proper access to data, reports and dashboards.
  • Troubleshoot data quality issues and defects to determine root cause.
  • Define metrics on report and dashboard usage.
  • Complete special projects, as assigned.

Managing Work, Projects, and Policies

  • Coordinates and implements work and projects as assigned.
  • Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
  • Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Manages the flow of questions and directs questions.

Supporting Operations

  • Works with team to put sustainable work processes and systems in place that support the execution of the strategy.
  • Establishes and maintains complete and up-to-date information to ensure accurate reporting.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Informs, updates, and provides information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person in a timely manner.
  • Attends and participates in all relevant meetings.
  • Presents ideas, expectations, and information in a concise, organized manner.
  • Uses problem solving methodology for decision making and follow up.
  • Maintains positive working relations with internal customers and department managers.
  • Manages time effectively and conducts activities in an organized manner.
  • Performs other reasonable duties as assigned by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five or more years of experience and data analysis.
  • Five or more years’ experience developing, testing, and implementing reports and dashboards using POWER BI.
  • Comfortable working with large and complex data models to see relationships, patterns, and trends.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tool Suite.
  • Knowledge of Azure Data Factory and SQL Server is a plus.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certifications.
  • Must be able to work in a Hybrid environment with 3 days in office (Tysons Corner, VA).

  • Experience understanding infrastructure and operations data to enable KPI measurements
  • Comfortable communicating technical material to non-technical business partners to help them interpret data and uncover actionable information
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage small projects while also contributing to larger initiatives
