Server Job at Art & Jake's Sports Bar & Grill
Reports to: Floor Manager/Manager
Summary of Position: Each server’s primary objective is to fulfill and exceed guests’ expectations by providing friendly, attentive service to create an exceptional dining experience so that they will want to return again and again.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- The server is expected to show up by her/his scheduled arrival time, well groomed, in proper uniform and ready to work.
- The server is not only responsible for the tables in his/her section, but also for the other tables in the restaurant. This includes delivering orders as soon as they are ready to ensure the highest food quality possible.
- The server is responsible for properly ordering food and beverages through the micros system.
- The server is responsible for his/her own bank. This must consist of a minimum of $50 in change broken down and at least $5 in miscellaneous change.
- The server is responsible for: presenting the correct bill to the guests, collecting the correct payment and returning the proper change using their bank. Change and charge receipts should be returned promptly. Failure to do this will result in disciplinary action.
- The server makes sure that all items needed are in place in his/her section and that the service stations are prepared for each shift, The station must be well maintained and frequently check for cleanliness throughout each shift by all servers.
- The server has complete knowledge of all aspects of the restaurant including all food and beverage products. The server can make specific suggestions or answer any guest’s questions, based on their knowledge, in a friendly, helpful and positive manner.
- The server is responsible for his/her appearance and must maintain the standards set by the restaurant.
- The server is responsible for all delegated tasks or responsibilities given by management throughout a shift. Including but not limited to: all party setup, opening duties, lunch side work, dinner shift setup/running side work and all closing duties.
- At the end of the shift, it is the responsibility to properly transfer or close his/her section without any disruption to guests in the dining room, as directed by management.
- The server cannot not leave until all of his/her side work has been completed, section detailed, and clock-out sheet has been signed by management.
- The server must maintain a friendly, helpful, positive, upbeat and team oriented attitude at all times.
- The server consistently follows all house policies, standards of service and all other operational policies that have been presented during training. Failure to do so will lead to disciplinary action.
Qualifications:
- Be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
- Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $600.00 - $1,000.00 per week
