JOB SUMMARY

The Service Asset and Configuration Management Engineer is responsible for CSI’s CMDB configuration and data accuracy around all IP-based assets. The SACM Engineer will support a program that provides sustainment, maintenance, Problem and Change management services to help ensure secure, reliability, and accuracy of the CMDB.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works independently as the CMDB hardware/software point of contact, with little oversight to achieve day-to-day objectives, by managing asset activities related to hardware/software requests.
  • Develops, maintains, and is responsible for the accuracy of the CMDB hardware/software catalog, which is the master spreadsheet per network of all hardware/software approved for use on CMDB networks. Ensures the repository is accessible to CSI IT personnel.
  • Tracks and maintains software licensing to prevent overutilization of controlled software products provide documentation for metadata to software and licensing requirements and provides status updates on current license accounts.
  • Researches and determines the appropriate software to replace obsolete software with similar functionality produces Bill of Materials for purchases and provides a technical evaluation of vendor quotes for accuracy prior to contract awards.
  • Maintains and modifies a central Configuration Management Database (CMDB) repository for the CSI IT staff and Risk department.
  • Coordinates with other managers across departments to update and integrate enterprise artifacts into the CMDB.
  • Updates and maintains baseline configuration management artifacts and metadata for systems.
  • Produces monthly reports and semi-annual True-Up reports.
  • Maintain software assets and license information.

Engineer III is will track KPIs to ensure we deliver on the results below.

  • Comprehensive infrastructure asset collection for all IT assets.
  • Subject matter and best practices expertise on relevant and emerging technologies and trends, including Virtual Infrastructure, OS, VMWare, VROPS, Vcenter, Storage, and Networking.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Certifications:

Education or job knowledge equivalent to a college or university undergraduate education with advanced knowledge of IT infrastructures, environments, tools, networks, and computer science. Relevant and maintained certifications are preferred.

Experience:

The minimum amount of relevant work experience required to successfully perform the job is at least (4) years or a minimum amount of (5) years. Experience in a highly regulated environment supporting controls like PCI / GBLA / HIPPA. 2 years of Lead or supervisory experience is a plus.

Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approach to assignments. Completed work is reviewed from a long-time perspective for desired results.
