Who We’re Looking For

Looking for a highly organized and proactive part-time dispatcher to join our team! The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to manage transportation and logistics, ensuring on-time deliveries while maintaining positive relationships with customers and carriers. Availability to work Friday through Monday is a must.

Starting pay based on experience

Monday: 9:00am - 1:00pm

Friday: 9:00am - 1:00pm

Saturday: 6:00am - 2:00pm

Sunday: 6:00am - 2:00pm

Responsibilities

• Schedule and dispatch transport deliveries of heating oil, kerosene, diesel, gasoline, ethanol, asphalt, emulsions, and industrial petroleum products
• Use care, creativity, and communication making every effort to accept and deliver all orders
• Manage inventory for company and customer sites using electronic monitoring
• Manage transportation and logistics activities for all divisions requiring transport deliveries
• Manage relationships with other common carriers as necessary
• Track and coordinate all vehicle movement throughout the day immediately reporting any delays to the Manager of Transportation Operations, sales team, and customer when necessary
• Track and update status of loads in CSI to ensure deliveries are made on time
• Understand supply options and allocations
• Make recommendations to management regarding hiring and lay-off of drivers
• Monitor driver logs to assure meeting DOT requirements
• Actively seek new business leads for Shipley Fuels Marketing or Shipley Energy Transport
• Actively promote safe and incident-free transport operations
• Report any unsafe problems, conditions, or practices to the General Manager of Transportation Operations or Transport Dispatch Supervisor
• Complete projects and other duties as assigned by the General Manager of Transportation Operations and Transport Dispatch Supervisor

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience
• Committed to the values of initiative, responsibility, caring relationships, integrity, and innovation
• Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
• Able to read and speak English
• Knowledge of computer technology including Word, Excel, and email
