Ultrasound Technologist - US Tech RAD - Travel Job at Travel Nurse Across America
We are looking for an Ultrasound Technologist (US Tech) for an immediate travel opening in Oak Lawn, IL. The right US Tech should have 1 year of experience. Read below for more requirements.
As a US Tech, you will be responsible for the use of the ultrasound machine and ensuring that images are accurate and passed on to physicians for medical interpretation. US Techs are also responsible for the preparation of and caring for patients undergoing ultrasound testing.
Tasks
As a US Tech, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:
- Educate patients and/or patient's family regarding procedures performed
- Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe the area(s) of concern
- Prepare the exam room for examinations and assist Radiologists with vascular ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-guided biopsies
- Report any abnormalities that require immediate attention to the appropriate medical staff
- Maintain sonography equipment and report machinery failure
- Conduct scan tests and write reports based on the results
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Understand and use the McKesson PACS system
Requirements
Must have 1 year of experience. Must have BLS, RDMS National certification, and state-specific licensing when required.
US Techs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. US Techs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
Certs required: BLS, ARDMS- - Abdomen, Vascular, Peds a plus. Experience required: 2 Years Exp. Performs all general and/or vascular procedures/studies under the direction of the Radiologist. Communicates results of diagnostic examinations to the interpreting physician.Skills required: Vascular, OBGYN, ABD. Charting System/Equipment: EPIC (exp. required); GE Logic E9, E10; Parks Arterial.
