The Collaborative for Educational Services is currently seeking a Coordinated Family and Community Engagement (CFCE) Bilingual Early Educator to provide developmentally appropriate, early learning and early literacy rich experiences, including playgroups for young children (ages 0-5) in the Amherst community. Their role is to enhance and foster positive relationships between parents and their children who speak primarily Mandarin Chinese, and to collaborate with various community partners. Responsibilities also include providing community outreach and providing families with resources and information on early learning and development, parenting and on local community resources.Who We Are: We are early childhood development specialists with years of experience in counseling, consulting, teaching, parenting, training, and connecting with community resources. We engage in this work proactively and purposefully, with the intent of positive outcomes, and because we need to.We hope that you will join us in this work!This is you: You have the ability to work well with children, parents, caregivers, schools and community resourcesYou can effectively communicate with a broad spectrum of individuals, collaborate with various community groups, mediate conflicts and involve a diverse group of individuals in programming are essentialYou have experience in early childhood education; early literacy skill development, parent engagement and parent education to provide engaging, developmentally appropriate and literacy rich parent/child playgroups.You are able to travel and work a flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend eventsYou have proficient technology skills, and strong oral and written skillsYou are bilingual: English/ChineseHighlights of What You Will Do: Establish rapport with each family and display empathy and understanding of others perspectives, needs, concerns and cultureProvide opportunities for families to learn and explore early learning and child development strategies that would enhance a childs growth and kindergarten readiness skillsProvide appropriate resources and support to meet each familys individual needs as neededConduct outreach to ensure that the community, partner agencies and schools have information about community based CFCE activities and eventsMaintain consistent communication and support to EEC licensed early childhood programs and public preschoolsTerms of Employment: Requires working a flexible schedule, 8-12 hours per week.Position ends June 30, 2023.Salary: $22/hour
