Job Summary:

The Human Resources Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of Gebhardt’s human resources department.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date HR files, personnel records & documentation.
  • Provides clerical and administrative support for the HR department.
  • Assists with the planning & execution of special events such as employee meetings, open enrollment, monthly luncheons, etc.
  • Assists with the recruitment & onboarding of new employees.
  • May assist with payroll functions, including timesheet approval, employee questions, fixing errors, etc.
  • Assist in all HR related projects, some of which include FMLA administration, employee handbook maintenance, performance management, employee wellness.
  • Handle employee requests dealing with HR issues and policies.
  • Promotes safety awareness to all employees.
  • Al other responsibilities assigned by management.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resources information system (HRIS) and similar computer applications.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience as an HR assistant or relevant HR/administrative position required.
  • Degree in HR or related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with HRIS software.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
