Resident Services Specialist Job at Housing Authority City of Annapolis - HACA
Work schedule: Monday - Friday (12:00 pm - 8:00 pm) and periodic weekend hours.
- Assists in coordinating activities for residents and community members.
- Distribute flyers in all HACA communities
- Assist with the quarterly publication of the HACA newsletter. Applicants must have experience using various social media platforms, Canvas, Word, and Publisher. Distributing the newsletter to various HACA properties.
- Engage youth in community partner sponsored events as well as HACA events. This includes door to door engagement with youth, parents, and others within the community. Attending community partner events with HACA youth as needed.
- Weekend availability on occasion to chaperone events for community providers utilizing the community centers. This includes answering questions, setting up the space with tables/chairs, cleaning up after events in addition to opening and closing the buildings after events have concluded.
- Facilitate event planning to include, contacting community partners to confirm events or other logistical needs.
- Communicating with the City of Annapolis regarding immediate needs from residents that have contacted them. Assisting as needed in the community with resident related concerns or issues.
- Provide direct services to residents; prepare assessments; develop and implement individual service plans
- Assist residents in achieving goals; facilitate groups and activities.
- Teach and/or assist residents in developing ADA skills, communication, and self- advocacy skills
- Facilitate resident involvement and community activities
- Make referrals to community-based services
- Assist in accessing and maintaining entitlements/benefits; advocate for needed services
- Assist residents in meeting the obligations of tenancy
- Distributing late rent notices to residents within the various HACA communities monthly.
- Assisting property management with resident engagement as needed.
- Assists in promoting and marketing program activities to participants.
- Assists in planning events and other special projects.
- Assists in the operation of Authority facilities by decorating buildings based on various themes.
- Sets up and tears down equipment and other materials for planned activities and special events.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
